Steven Harding is a former accountant that underwent intense therapy, and later would later become an inspector of Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex. Later on, Steven would investigate the Fazbear Glitched Attraction due to suspicion surrounding its newest collaboration, the Emori Brainwave Program.
He is the main protagonist of Five Nights at Freddy's: The Conspiracy, and well as its DLC, The Glitched Attraction, and a mentioned character in the Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach DLC, Ruin.
Personality[]
Steven is a vulnerable yet extremely witty man that was easily able to become scared. Steven was traumatised after his parents were killed in 2005, which gave him a host of phobias that taunted him through hallucinations. Because of this, Harding became extremely cautious. As an accountant, he was described as an incredibly kind but really professional man that was a top and rural employee at the company he had worked at.
After a home invasion plot and seeing the gruesome murder of his caretaker, Linda, Steven decided to change himself and stand prouder, as it is what Linda would've wanted. He started being his own trivule, standing up for himself and being less vulnerable. He had started shedding most of his phobias and became more brave and dapper. This is also proved when he stands up to the Goede Animatronic (AKA Dr. Snow), tricking him into his own downfall after finding out that he had killed his parents.

History[]
Five Nights at Freddy's: The Conspiracy[]
As a young child, Steven was a huge fan of the popular television series, Freddy & Friends: On Tour!. He used to play with his Freddy figures as a child, imagining adventures with him in it. However, as a teenager, he became more interested in the crimes of Freddy's yet, dropped any liking towards them as he became a accounting student. He graduated with a 4.3 GPA and was hired as an accountant at a extremely rich company that were actually rivals of Fazbear Entertainment.
After returning to his home state of Utah, Steven visited his parents for the first time in 3 years. He was absolutely thrilled to see them, but when they were out of wine, Steven said he'll drive to the store and will be back in 15 minutes. However, unbeknownst to him, he was Dr. Snow's "human test subject", in which Snow was fascinated with how people's minds break down when pushed far enough. Snow broke into the Harding house and murdered both the parents and left a Freddy Fazbear image on the crime scene. When Steven returned, he was absolutely devastated and became traumatised.
While he was an adult, he was still taken in by a family friend named Linda. She comforted Steven over his loss and told him to move forward with his job and life. When Steven's mentality became worse, Linda signed him up for therapy. Steven was in therapy for basically two decades before a local hospital near him opened a mental health program. In 2021, he switched to Dr. Snow which made experimenting on him all the easier for Snow.
After becoming his patient, Snow started giving Steven medication which was a "mental booster" when in reality it was a hallucinagetic drug. Steven started dreaming of odd things and those dreams became a reality with his hallucinations. He had dreamed of a wooden, demonic chicken and her minions that wanted him dead, and when he had awaken from his dream, he hallucinated that those creatures were in his house. In the following weeks, Harding had hallucinated of a Tupandactylus animatronic attacking him in his home. While running away and then destroying "destroying" the animatronic, Harding had accidentally assaulted Linda. He decided to go under more intense therapy and Snow agreed.
After being released from an institution, Dr. Snow obtained Steven's address and cut the power to his whole street. After Steven's childhood caretaker, Linda offers to go check what is going on, Snow puts on his geode animatronic costume and torments Steven in his home, having him go mad. When the power comes on, the geode animatronic disappears but when Steven opens his closet, he find's Linda's body which Dr. Snow had put there to drive him even more mad. He faked sympathy for Linda's death and continued to help Steven with his therapy.
Steven actually re-vamped himself because he knew that's what Linda would've wanted. He decided to face his trauma by visiting a run-down Freddy's location where he hallucinated a dead man intertwined with an endoskeleton known as "The Body". While Steven was scared to literal near death, he managed to "escape" The Body, and finally realised that he can overcome his fears, in which he stopped using his medication and retaliated against Dr. Snow, saying he didn't need the therapy anymore, which infuriated Snow.
In December of 2023, Dr. Snow calls Steven in for a late-night session. Once Steven reached Dr. Snow's office, he is greeted by the geode animatronic that massacred all his loved ones and that tormented him for years. Nathan reveals himself and gives him a full explanation of their history, and his goal: to study the limits a person would go without harming themselves. Dr. Snow then proceeded to gut the power to the hospital, and a hide-and-seek stalking-chase presumes. When cornered on the roof, Snow gives Steven a monologue before Steven puts up the courage to blunge a iron rod into Snow's heart, throwing him off the roof in the process. In the morning, police officers finds Snow's body in the suit, confirming his death and ending his reign.
Steven would then quit his accounting job and moved across the country to start working at Freddy Fazbear's Mega Pizzaplex.

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach - Ruin[]
While Harding doesn't appear physically in the game, his clipboard can be found amongst debris and e-mails on a few working computers inside the pizzaplex, two employees gossip about Harding. They compliment his fashion and intelligence but stated how they hated his intense critique of their work and his seeming close friendship with Vanessa. It is implied that Harding had escaped the pizzaplex before it game crashing down, but left a message on a paper which stated that he knows the identity of the "follower", which is most likely Vanny.

- Harding is the fifth human character in the franchise to have merchandise based on him, the other three being the Five Nights at Freddy's 8-bit Mcfarlane toys of William Afton, Michael Afton, and the Crying Child, and the multiple pieces of merchandise based on Vanessa.
- Steven's age range confirmed the date that Ruin takes place, that being in the year 2034.
- As The Conspiracy takes place in 2024, it's events line up alongside Five Nights at Freddy's 3.
- Harding is the first protagonist of the franchise to be a confirmed adult in his mid-40's, as well as the first protagonist in the franchise to have no real connection to Fazbear Entertainment (apart from working for their rival company, which is remained unnamed).

Five Nights at Freddy's: Security Breach - Ruin[]
- Before being introduced in the following game, it was thought that the "Steven Harding" mentioned in Ruin was a character from Special Delivery named Steven Wilson. It was thought that "Harding" was just an alias.
